The Many Views on Cost Sharing
Cost sharing has been the subject of debate for more than five decades, with many constituencies weighing in with widely differing views. Although few Federal agencies today impose mandatory cost sharing, the Federal Government generally favors the concept because it is perceived to leverage Federal funding, bringing more money to the research enterprise and creating a sense of partnership between the provider and the recipient.
