As a systems engineer, Dr. G. Kemble Bennett has done his share of designing and managing complex engineering projects for NASA and the aerospace industry, and in running his own company. Every year the Office of Naval Research (ONR) has a proposal competition for young investigators which “aims to attract to naval research those outstanding new faculty members at institutions of higher education.” Out of 208 proposals, ONR funded only 27 awards. One of the awards is to Haiyan Wang from Electrical Engineering.
